The Hudson-Webber Foundation believes that sound policy and strong data are key to lasting, equitable change. Hudson-Webber Foundation’s Policy & Research efforts aim to break down systemic barriers and uncover opportunities for impact across all mission areas.

  • Remove policy barriers that limit progress and prevent solutions from reaching scale in the Foundation’s mission areas
  • Prioritize equity-focused, evidence-driven solutions that center local expertise and align with the Foundation’s priorities
  • Commission timely, relevant research to inform policy and funding decisions across mission areas

Grant Highlights

  • Michigan Future, Inc.: Received $250,000 to conduct research and analysis to help create a fairer, more equitable property tax structure that supports Detroit’s economic growth.
  • Citizens Research Council: Awarded $200,000 in general operating support (2023–2024) to advance research, education, and community engagement on policy issues affecting Detroiters.
  • Michigan League for Public Policy: Approved $200,000 in operating support to strengthen research, education, and community engagement on policy issues affecting Detroiters.
  • Center for Michigan: Granted $100,000 in general operating support for Bridge Michigan and BridgeDetroit to promote research, education, and community engagement on policy issues affecting Detroiters.
