Why We Exist

Hudson-Webber Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life in Detroit.

We do this by investing in efforts that grow vibrant neighborhoods—places where all Detroiters, regardless of background, have the opportunity to prosper. Our mission is both city-wide in scope and neighborhood-focused in strategy, acknowledging that equitable, place-based investments are essential to long-term, inclusive growth.

Our commitment includes addressing structural inequities and historical injustices that have limited access to opportunity—especially for communities of color. We invest our time, resources, and voice in driving systemic change while building strong, responsive institutions that serve Detroiters.
